We have been so fortunate to have found K8VS School, Link on Learning for our daughter. She's thrived in the past school year, which is particularly significant given the havoc the pandemic caused in the school system globally. The platform provided a stable learning environment for her and allowed her to develop a good work ethic and discipline Her teacher Mrs. Finlay has been phenomenal. We couldn't have asked for a better educator. Great support is given when needed and we highly recommend K8VS School, Link on Learning!. Thank you for all your help!

My son loves this school , it really has taken so much stress out of learning for him, and me as a mom as well. To any parent trying to juggle teaching at home, and the everyday this is a great option. My child is not in front of a computer all day, and is learning much faster than he was before.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this a recognized school?

Yes, Link On Learning's K-8 Virtual School is an Internet-based private school in Ontario and is recognized as such. The school was founded in 2002 as the first of its kind in Canada. Since it was established, many have attended enjoying the benefits, quality and flexibility that this online learning program has to offer.

  • Why is space limited?

There is limited space because we keep the class sizes small. This way students can receive the support they need. To help the community during COVID-19 and beyond, we are investing in extra teaching, tech, and support and unfortunately, resources are finite.

JK - SK should spend 3 hours per day

Gr 4 - Gr 6 should spend 4 hours per day
Gr 7 - Gr 8 should spend 5 hours per day

  • What equipment and supplies does the student need?

The student needs a computer or laptop with a keyboard and mouse, Google Chrome Web Browser, Adobe PDF Reader, MS Word, and a good Internet connection. Other supplies include calculator, graph paper, notebooks, pens, and pencils, etc. Parents must provide all of the equipment and supplies to the student.

Homeroom Teacher

                      Brenda Lanois

I completed my degree and my M.Sc.Ed while teaching in Ontario many years ago.

In 2016 I began teaching my online teaching career. I enjoy the courses I teach and appreciate the flexibility teaching and learning online offers.

I am also a recreation director at a very busy gymnastics gym and I coach competitive trampoline and tumbling. Teaching online allows me to have the best of both worlds. Organization is the key but I am able to teach and coach and attend competitions.

                   Janice S. Frohlich

I founded the school 20+ years ago with one goal in mind: to help students.

When we started there were no other online elementary schools in Ontario. We wanted an approach that was specifically designed for kids that would be effective for a variety of learning styles.

It’s been an exciting journey collaborating with teachers, instructional designers, tech gurus, parents, and students. It's been such a privilege to watch the program grow and see the positive impact it has had on so many students and families.

In these unprecedented times, we are happy we can help.
